YOUR
SEASON.
IN PRINT.

Build a hardback from your own season. Drop in the captures, the swims and the nights, choose a CYP-designed template, and we print it in the UK on proper stock. No adverts, no stock shots. Nothing between the covers you didn't live.

THE STUFF YOU
ACTUALLY SHOOT

You already shoot the book. The rolling fish at first light, the mat shot by head torch, the swim you watched all week before it went. It's all on your phone, scattered among a thousand other pictures. Print pulls it together, runs it big on proper paper, and binds it into something you'll still be opening in twenty years.

Three templates

DARK MIRROR. LINEAR.
FULLY SCALED.

Three templates, three different books. One built for torchlight and black pages, one for big clean spreads you flick through on a Sunday, one for the angler who logs every bite. All three run the full book, cover to back, and you can switch at any point without losing a thing.

DARK
MIRRORFOR THE ONES THAT CAME IN THE DARK

The CYP look on paper. Full black stock, white condensed headers, a single green hairline, mono captions. Photos run full-bleed with a filmic grain. Built for the fish that came in the dark: head-torch mat shots, dawn mist, the receiver at 3am.

LINEARCLEAN LINES. IMAGES RUN AS BIG AS THE PAGE

Bone silk paper, a serif body in two columns, one photo per spread run to the edge. For the long sessions and the long reads: a season on one pit, a campaign for one fish, told properly. A single red rule is the only colour that isn't yours.

FULLY
SCALEDEVERY CAPTURE ON RECORD

A session diary on a faint scale-pattern stock. Every capture gets a card: weight, venue, swim, rig, bait, wind, pressure, moon phase, water temperature. Stamped times, ruled captions, and a season record at the back for the angler who keeps the numbers.

A PROPER LAYOUT TOOL.
IN THE BROWSER.

Not a photo-book wizard. A proper page layout studio: rulers, bleed and safe areas, snapping, layers, typography, image grading for night shots and flat grey days, full history. This is a taster; the full studio with your own photos, saved books and press PDFs is at /app. Drag things. Resize them. Drop a photo from Assets onto a frame. Double-click text to edit it. Press ⌘Z.

What the studio does

EVERYTHING A BOOK NEEDS FROM ILLUSTRATOR.
NOTHING IT DOESN'T.

The parts marked live work in the mock above. The rest is the build list, all of it standard in the engine we're reusing or a known quantity.

CANVAS

RULERS, BLEED, SAFE, GRID

Millimetre rulers, 3mm bleed, 10mm safe area, six-column grid, centre guides. Toggle each from the view bar.

OBJECT

MOVE, RESIZE, SNAP, ALIGN

Eight-handle resize, snapping to page edges, centre and safe area, align and distribute, bring forward and send back.

LAYERS

LAYERS PANEL

Every element on both pages, with hide and lock. Select from the list or on the page.

HISTORY

UNLIMITED UNDO

Named history steps. Jump to any point. ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z as you'd expect.

TYPE

FULL TYPOGRAPHY

Five faces, size, tracking, leading, case, alignment, swatches and template-aware paragraph styles.

IMAGE

NON-DESTRUCTIVE GRADING

Exposure, contrast, saturation, warmth, black and white, grain, vignette. Presets tuned for night shots and gravel pits.

ASSETS

DRAG AND DROP PHOTOS

Drop onto a frame to swap, onto the page to add. Photos arrive sorted by capture time, auto-split into sessions.

TEMPLATES

SWITCH WITHOUT LOSING WORK

Change template and your photos, captions and captures re-flow into the new design system.

PREVIEW

THE BOOK AS IT BUILDS

Open the preview at any point and page through every spread so far, with the one you're editing in place. Real page turns, real thumbnails.

MASTERS

MASTER PAGES

Save any page as a master. Apply it across a session or the whole book. Edit the master, every page follows.

TEXT

FLOWING STORIES

Long reads thread from page to page. Spell-check, find and replace, smart quotes, hyphenation.

COLLAB

REALTIME WITH MATES

Two people on the same book at once. Share links for photo drops. Comments pinned to the page.

PREFLIGHT

PRINT-READY EXPORT

Low-res and out-of-safe warnings, font embedding, CMYK soft proof, bleed and crop marks, press PDF and a digital flip-book.

How it works

FOUR STEPS TO THE SHELF

DROP YOUR PHOTOS

Straight from your phone or camera. Sorted into sessions by the date they were taken. Anything too small to print at full page gets flagged before you order.

PICK A TEMPLATE

Dark Mirror, Linear or Fully Scaled. Switch any time. Your photos, captions and captures carry over.

LAY IT OUT

Write the captions on the page, pan and grade the shots, add a capture card with the weight, swim, rig and conditions. Or accept the layout and go.

PRINTED AND POSTED

Hardback, lay-flat, UK press. Proof it on screen, pay, and it turns up at the door. Order a second copy for the mate who did the netting.

Shared books

YOUR MATES
DROP THEIR SHOTS IN

The best shot of your fish is usually on someone else's phone. Send one link and whoever has it can drop their photos straight into your book, no account needed, tagged with their name. You decide what makes the page.

"I always wanted it to be a coffee table format. A place for images, stories and thoughts to have a permanent home on your shelf."

  • One HTML/CSS renderer for both the live preview and the Puppeteer print PDF (packages/book). Same file on screen and at the press.
  • Iframe live-preview patcher, undo/redo, 900ms autosave, Supabase Realtime merge, on-page contentEditable captions from BookStudio.tsx.
  • Photo model: focus point plus zoom crop, EXIF date sort, resize to 3600px long edge, low-resolution warning.
  • Share-token contributor route, custom_books and book_orders tables, Stripe checkout, staff order queue with press PDF, owner-folder storage RLS.
What changes
  • Replace the flow-layout templates with the absolute-positioned element model this mock uses (elements in page-percent units, mm in the UI). That's what makes free layout, layers and snapping possible.
  • Turn the single stylesheet into a Theme per template (palette, fonts, textures, paragraph styles, page masters). Three themes: Dark Mirror, Linear, Fully Scaled.
  • Replace drives, pegs and bag with sessions and captures. Catch card page replaces the drive page. Map plate becomes a swim map.
  • Image grading as a CSS filter string on screen, baked by sharp at export. The house grade used on this page (desaturate, crush, teal shadows, grain, vignette) becomes the default "CYP" preset.
  • Fonts: licence Bebas Neue Pro from Adobe for print, Bebas Neue open as fallback. Photography throughout is Cypography's own, supplied by Craig on 17 Oct.
